Young Innovators’ Challenge 2021

Congratulations to RGS Team Troika for winning the Best Product Design Award at the Grand Finals of the Young Innovators’ Challenge 2021! The team was one of two RGS teams that attended the live masterclass series alongside over 400 students from 37 schools. Eventually, eight teams were shortlisted for the finals of the challenge with Team Troika being one of the teams. The team was supervised by RGS teachers Mrs Tan Yin Lai and Mr Shaun De Souza as they went about designing a smart cushion that provides a thrust to assist the elderly to transit from sitting to standing.

Organised by the Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre of the Nanyang Technological University, the Young Innovators’ Challenge is a series of innovation and education programmes comprising masterclasses, prototyping, coaching and competition. The theme for the challenge this year was Future Smart City.
